Hey friends! Want a quick and easy project this weekend that makes a big difference? I want to show you guys some frames that I spray painted to fill some space in my bookcase! This project is so easy and super cheap. I had everything on hand except for the fabric so I ended up spending about a buck on this project. I’d say that’s a buck well spent folks!
So we have a big Ikea bookcase that is in between our front door and living room. It is really big and I had nothing else left to decorate it with so I pulled out 3 frames I had hanging up in my daughters’ nursery when they were babies.
They looked cute in their room but in the bookcase not so much. But it’s okay. Spray paint and fabric came to my rescue!! I went to Walmart and found a fat quarter that was $0.98! Super cheap and it matched the stuff in my living room much better than the red flowers! It was a really easy project. I just popped the old stuff and glass out and went out back and sprayed them. I just did a few light coats of paint. While the paint dried I cut card stock to fit in the frames.
Next just sit your cut card stock onto your fabric, trace, and cut. Then you can use some spray glue to attach the fabric to the card stock. This is what I use…
Put it all back in the frames once they dry and your done. Easy peasy! Looks much better now.
I don’t really care for the bookcase there but I don’t have anywhere else to put it. I am looking for a dresser or buffet that I can paint and put in it’s spot but for now it’ll do! Once I find something better this big ‘ol thing is getting tossed out. It had an accident during our move. A big accident! Luckily the books on top of it are able to cover the problem but it’s days are numbered people! The pretty frames make me like it a little more though 🙂
Well guys hope you all have a great weekend! Now go get your spray paint on!!
