Good morning!  I’m back again this morning to show you one of my favorite things to make.  Look at these beauties…

Aren’t they gorgeous!!  This is a set I recently made for a customer and I am just so happy with how they came out.  But when you have pictures like that, can they really come out bad?  I have done probably 10 sets of these and this set is by far my favorite!  I usually do them in sepia.

Don’t get me wrong I still love this, especially those adorable kiddos in the pictures, but I really love them in color. I think I may just have to get busy making some more 🙂

Now let’s show you guys how to make some of your own!  I started off with a 1×8 board and cut it down to 7.25″ pieces.  The day I made these ones I also made another set as a gift but since I haven’t given them to their new owner yet I can’t show you guys those ones!  Once they are cut just sand the edges down and you’re ready to work!

I use an espresso stain to stain the backs, sides, and just a little bit of the front.  Just wipe the stain on and a few minutes later wipe off any excess stain with a paper towel.

Once they are dry it’s time to put your pictures on.  I just print my pictures from the printer at home onto white card stock.  Once they are printed I put the blocks over top of the pictures and trace out where to cut.  Brush Modge Podge on to glue your pictures down.

Do your pictures a little at a time.  Brush on some glue, smooth out that part of the picture, brush on more glue, smooth out more of the picture, and so on.

Once they are all finished you can spray them if you want.  I just use a craft sealer that I got at Michael’s a long time ago.  Now put some picture hangers on the back and hang up your handy work!

These are a perfect inexpensive gift!  Christmas is coming up so why not get a jump on your gift list??  These are inexpensive and so sweet!  Who doesn’t love a beautiful new way to display some of their favorite pictures.  And the best part is you can do these whatever size you want.  If you are giving them as a gift just tie a pretty ribbon on and you have a very special present for someone!

Hope you guys all have a great day and get to make something pretty today!  Maybe these sweet little blocks 🙂
