Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!

Hi y’all!  Thanks for stopping by!  I’ve been wanting to blog for, oh I don’t know, ever?!?!  I decided to finally bite the bullet and join all the other bloggers.  This first post I will just give you guys a little info and maybe share a few pics.

I’m Steph, a 30 year old (shhhh don’t tell anyone)  military wife and stay at home mom.  My hubs has served for a loooong time in the military and it has landed us in Omaha, Nebraska.  I’m an AZ girl born and raised so the cold is NOT my friend.  I can’t wait to get to move back home some day and wear my flip flops in Dec 😉

I have 3 awesome, hilarious, sweet, but sometimes naughty kiddos.  My oldest is a 6 year old little boy.  He is definitely the easiest of the bunch!  I also have 3 year old identical twin girls.  They are funny, smart, and oh so full of attitude!  Somehow I ended up with 3 blonde hair and blue eyed kids who are even cuter then I could have ever imagined…guess I just got lucky in the adorable offspring department haha

At night after the kiddies have gone to bed you can find me out in the garage building or making a disaster in my kitchen.  I liketo the call the kitchen the “Paint workshop”.  I started building furniture about 2 years ago after I stumbled on Ana White’s blog (www.ana-white.com).  Seriously people, check her out!  She literally changed my life with her easy to follow plans.  Almost every single piece of furniture is made following her plans…some I follow exactly and some I tweak to be exactly what I need.  I am slowly furnishing my house with hand built beautiful items.  I have also started selling stuff to people who don’t have the desire to build themselves.  This definitely helps fund my building addiction!

I am not the most creative person but I find the more that I do, the more the creative juices get-a-flowin!  I do love crafting, sewing, cooking, baking, and pretty much anything else along those lines.  I love DIY, beautiful homes, pretty things, bright colors, and dark wood stains.  I’m a huge nerd so expect plenty of nerdiness—-and made up words apparently!   Thanks for stopping by and I would love it if you would follow me!  Also check me out and like my facebook page www.facebook.com/simplylovelylumber
